[2024/06/24 15:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's much quicker indeed, and, we see the cave full of dirt and rocks. It's overgrown, choked with weeds, clearly not used by any creatures in a long time. And we're on the road again... and it's not long before you get the distinct feeling of being followed, watched...

[2024/06/24 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: Since you're two or three days from the capital, still fairly good, but, clearly it's getting rougher going. Further out, and, it'll be very rough. For now, you can still travel easily enough.

[2024/06/24 15:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: As the sun gets low in the sky, we come to a fairly large clear area. It looks like a good spot to stop, used frequently by others, indeed, very recently used by the look of it.

[2024/06/24 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: You see a pair of amber eyes from the undergrowth by the road, and a hint of a striped body followed by a swishing tail. It looks like you're being followed by the tiger again.

[2024/06/24 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's a circle of stones with fresh black ash in it. The ground is flat and level, and to one side you see a small cairn of stones, with a stick stuck in it. To anyone else, it's just a pile of rocks. To a dwarf, it says, "There's a message here".
[2024/06/24 16:09] Alicia Frakture: I'm going to get what food we have out and start building a fire before heading off if it is the tiger following us. Gotta get some meat for our friend.
[2024/06/24 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: As it gets dark, Katana stares out to the north east, frowning at the sky. Joan starts to set up pots and pans, glancing at the tiger. "Is it going to be safe?"
[2024/06/24 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: The tiger hunkers down in the bushes, watching warily.
[2024/06/24 16:10] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben, not wanting to reveal the nature of such secrets yet, will wait until everyone else is doing other things before she investigates the message. "I'd assume no, at least until Lesha gets it properly on our side. Never heard of a tiger being tame, but I'd not ever expected one of my best friends to turn into a pixie either."
[2024/06/24 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: Joan prepares a somewhat bland but quite edible and filling broth. (She never said she was a good cook.)
[2024/06/24 16:12] Alicia Frakture: *Does Leesha come back with any meat for the tiger?*
[2024/06/24 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: Probably not, with no proficiences, you blunder noisily and scare any prey far away. (The tiger can probably do better himself... in fact, he definitely can)
[2024/06/24 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: Katana shivers and shakes herself. "I... guess I'll take first watch..." she starts to tend to the horse.
[2024/06/24 16:16] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at the tiger."Sorry buddy, but I am not a hunter." But cuts a wedge of the dried meat and tosses it to the tiger." I'll take second watch."
[2024/06/24 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: The tiger slinks out, catches the meat and slinks back into the bushes. The sound of chewing comes briefly.
[2024/06/24 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Time for Debben to check the cairn?

[2024/06/24 16:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: A discreet rummage, and there is indeed a note, a scroll, written in the Dwarven language: "This is a Note, written by Gorek Gerden, of the Arbek Admun party. We are on our way at last, we picked up the trail of the Jaden Flatrun party. They headed north and east, apparantly to either the castle Stonekeep or the village of Arc. It's hard to believe a powerful artifact lays hidden there, but if Jaden says it's there, it's there. We shall have power and wealth beyond our dreams! Admittedly we've heard some unsettling stories, but that's probably just big ones' talk. True dwarves don't fear stories! But we also met an Uth Tagoth, named Debben. Maybe we should've been nicer, after all, aren't we all dwarves together. But she dabbled in magick, a most unseemly thing for dwarves to dabble with. I'm leaving this note here, we'll be in Howandaland soon."

[2024/06/24 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She takes rather some offense at being called a mere "dabbler" but must begrudingly admit it's rather accurate of her at the moment. Does she have any recall of the Jaden Flatrun party
[2024/06/24 16:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hard to say; by the sound of it that's a group of dwarves you've not yet met. This guy who wrote that note, must be one of the dwarves you met in the capital city.
[2024/06/24 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: And with that, the night starts. You've an apex predator watching you from the bushes, and Katana glaring at the sky north and east. I'm sure you'll sleep well, whatever could happen... :)
